In 2008, the state legislature introduced a bill that would require foodservice establishments to list the nutrition information of all standard menu items. The nutrition information to be included was: calories, grams of total fat, saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, carbohydrates, fiber, sugar, and proteins. Menu boards were to include total calories per serving. Menus and menu boards were to display a statement addressing a balanced diet. The bill died at the end of the legislative session.
