Georgia

In 2008, the state legislature prohibited any county board of health or political subdivision of the state including: municipalities, county and local government authorities, boards and commissions from regulating the display of nutrition information at foodservice establishments.

In 2007, Georgia created a House Study Committee on Trans Fat Alternatives for the Georgia food industry funded till year end, to examine trans fat alternatives for the state�s food industry and school system. The Committee also explored options of restricting artificial trans fat in schools and restaurants.
