This section lists some of the many trade organizations communicating business news, research findings, technological advancements and program initiatives affecting the foodservice industry today.

Culinary Institute of American (CIA)

The CIA is a private, not-for-profit college dedicated to providing the world's best professional culinary education. Through their groundbreaking educational initiatives, such as, the World’s of Healthy Flavors presented in conjunction with the Harvard School of Public Health, the CIA is assisting corporate and executive chefs of chain restaurants, hotels, supermarkets (foodservice operations), and volume foodservice expand options for healthy meal choices within their businesses and on behalf of their customers.

Grocery Manufacturers (GMA)/
Food Products Association (FPA)

The GMA and the FPA recently joined forces. The joint association promotes sound public policy, initiatives that increase productivity and growth and helps to protect the safety and security of the food supply through scientific excellence.

International Food Information Council (IFIC)

IFIC's purpose is to bridge the gap between science and communications by collecting and disseminating scientific information on food safety, nutrition and health.

National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS)

NACUFS is the trade association for foodservice professionals at more than 600 institutions of higher education in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and abroad.

National Restaurant Association (NRA)

This trade organization offers certification, training materials, education resources, and a wealth of industry news and trends.

North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM)

A resource for information on food service equipment, supplies, operations and management.

School Nutrition Association (SNA)

An association of food-service administrators, managers, educators, or personnel dedicated to ensuring that "healthful meals and nutrition education are available to all children."

Society for Foodservice Management (SFM)

SFM is a national association serving the needs and interests of executives in the onsite foodservice industry.

The American Culinary Federation (ACF)

ACF is a professional chefs' organization.

The Institute of Shortening and Edible Oils (ISEO)

This site provides resources relating to the edible fats and oils industry, including various published materials; information on fats and oils, nutrition, processing, methods and related technical information; statistics; and contacts and links to manufacturers, refiners, trade associations, and government agencies.
